Rideau View Golf & Country Club

The original members of Rideau View Golf & Country Club broke ground for a nine-hole golf course in the summer of 1955. The first nine was designed by renowned architext Howard Watson, and opened the summer of 1957. After the success of the first nine, the back nine was opened in 1961, designed by Robbie Robinson.

The entire golf course covers 183 acres including tree lots, practice facility, and all of the buildings. Minor course improvements continued year-by-year and major improvements started in the late 80's with the addition of drainage system and continued into the early 90's with the installation of an automated irrigation system. With these improvements came the demand for higher quality turf, which in turn required more specialized equipment and a higher trained staff to maintain the course at these new expectations. Due to these upgrades, Rideau View was selected to host the Trafalgar CPGA Championship in 1995, welcoming the top touring pros from the Canadian Tour.
